Flood Prediction Network · Houston I-10

A heads-up before
water reaches
your route.

A one-hour water-level forecast, turned into a text you can use to plan around flooding. AI-Rey is preparing a focused service for two Houston I-10 locations.

$12 / year · planned two-location service · USD

In development. Email Roberto to express interest; this does not enroll you in SMS alerts or charge your card. Exact road coverage will be published before subscriptions open.

01 / From the watershed to your phone

Two updates.
One useful decision.

Watch what is upstream

The Flood Prediction Network uses recent stream-gauge conditions across a watershed to forecast future water levels. Its recurrent model advances in 15-minute steps.

Check the road threshold

The planned service compares the one-hour forecast with a verified, location-specific flood threshold. A rise warning gives you time to consider another route.

Know when the forecast falls

A second text reports when the forecast falls below the configured recession threshold. Road closures and conditions still determine whether you can travel.

02 / A focused first service

Built in Houston.
Starting with I-10.

Roberto Vega built FPN to predict the future state of a watershed, including individual gauges. The first consumer offer connects that work to two specific roadway locations.

Before paid subscriptions open, we are connecting the operating model, confirming road-to-gauge thresholds, and exercising phone verification, delivery receipts, opt-out and billing.

What is being expanded

Research now includes radar rainfall, NOAA rainfall forecasts, aerial imagery and existing elevation data. The goal is better local runoff and timing estimates, followed by support for additional watersheds.

These additions are under evaluation. Accuracy gains and coverage will be reported after comparable held-out storm testing; they are not features of a live subscription today.

03 / Before you join

The practical details.

Which two I-10 locations are covered?

The initial offer is for two Houston I-10 locations. Exact segments, gauge mappings and coverage boundaries are being confirmed and will be shown before anyone pays. This is not coverage of the entire highway.

Is the service sending alerts now?

No. Enrollment, forecast decisions and billing are being rehearsed locally. Launch updates are handled by email; no live flood-alert subscription is available from this page.

Does a one-hour forecast guarantee an hour of warning?

The service is designed around water levels forecast one hour ahead. The available warning time also depends on incoming observations, changing conditions and message delivery. Location-specific performance and service limits will accompany the paid offer.

What will $12/year include?

The planned annual subscription includes forecast-based rising-water and recession texts for the two published locations. Message frequency varies with conditions. Message and data rates may apply. Phone verification, SMS consent, opt-out and cancellation will be part of paid enrollment.

Can I request another roadway or watershed?

Yes. Email Roberto with the road, city and nearby stream or gauge if you know it. Additional locations need data, road thresholds and performance checks before they can be offered.
